Jan is the founder and designer behind the independent British women's wear brand Antonia York - funnily enough, she is also Nicola's Mum!

Antonia York strive to create beautiful, flattering silhouettes for women; clothing that evokes femininity, spirit and confidence.

The brand is also concerned with environmental factors - “I believe that fashion needs to be slower and more sustainable and that a wardrobe should be filled with well-loved, timeless garments that can be worn again and again for a number of occasions”. - Jan

Antonia York offer a variety of clothing including dresses, kimonos, caftans, trousers and accessories including scarves and headbands. 

They have their own Blossom and Oasis collection, which include some of their bestsellers! ​

Antonia York are continuously striving to improve their supply chain towards more sustainable fabrics and socially responsible sources.

The brand purchase ‘deadstock fabrics’ to make small batches of Limited Edition products here in the UK. By using ‘deadstock fabric’, regardless of its origin, it would ordinarily be a waste product created by another brand and if Antonia York or anyone else does not use it, it would simply go to landfill. By creating products from ‘deadstock fabric’ they can be confident as a brand that their environmental and social impact is as small as possible.


Jan and Nicola, being a mother and daughter, strive to support each other in their journeys. Jan required some lifestyle photography for her brand, mainly for her website and social media platforms, and Nicola was the perfect solution. 


The pair worked collaboratively together to devise the perfect styled set-ups. They used their time to brainstorm and bounce ideas off one another, showing a real sense of team work and a little bit of cheekiness along the way. 


Nicola had a vision to showcase Antonia Yorks garments to their main target audience and what better model to use that the founder of the brand, her Mum!
